One day, I wondered how the cosmetics we usually use were made and got some shocking facts about it. I knew that the genocide of animals was taking place in the development of cosmetics. For example, researchers experiment with mascara by dripping liquid into rabbit’s eyes. We sacrifice animals to see if they are harmful to the our body. However, I think we should stop to do this and find other safe way.

Nowadays, I often see various beauty videos on Youtube. Wearing makeup is help people to be confident and get more beauty. I also interested in doing makeup and often watch some videos. I can also learn some differences between Korean and Japanese style. However, I would like you to know there is an unknown truth about beauty.

I found the organic cosmetics and some companies that is against animal testing like LUSH. I have heard there are some groups that try to ban clinical experiments on animals to protect animals. People should share these facts, and these activities should be more widely known through the SNS. I also try to use the organic one after know that and recommend it to my friends. 

1. Everything is big
   We can see most of the things in the supermarket are big. When I saw a milk bottle, I thought it was laundry detergent. Japanese people do not use much milk when they cook. However, American people use milk when they have breakfast like serial and pancake. I think that’s why they need big size of milk.
2. Americans express their opinions directly
   It was the hardest thing for me because I was not used to express my thinking to others. Japanese tend to be reserved, and sometimes it is more considerate not to say “no” directly. However, I think it is also important to say what they think honestly.
3. Americans speak freely to others
   American people is very friendly, and they are consistently kind to strangers. Japanese are also kind but I can feel the kindness of Americans more in daily life.
4. There are very few vending machines
   The vending machine is one of the things that foreigners are impressed when they come to Japan. Japanese vending machines have many kinds of drinks, and we can get those whenever we want. However, I could see only 4 or 5 vending machines in a big campus when I was a college student in the U.S.. It was a little inconvenient because I had to be in line to buy drinks at cafeteria.
5. America is liberal with LGBT community
   I often saw gay couple walking hand in hand in town. I have never thought it is unpleasant. Compared to the United States, Japanese are more conservative and have prejudice against homosexuality, so it is hard to recognize them. I think we should deepen our understanding of them more.

Studying in America was a good experience for me to learn about the differences between American and Japanese culture. At first, there were many things that surprised me, but I learned that understanding and accepting of others is important, and it is interesting to know other country’s cultures.

Nowadays, I can see people are using their smartphones anywhere on the train or walking alone the street, In the past, we could only contact each other by letter, but with the development of technology, we can now easily connect with people through telephone and social networking services(SNS). There are also various functions and applications, which are very convenient. Now, I am going to argue about good and bad points of the SNS.

First, You can easily make friends with people from all over the world. Facebook is one of the most popular social networking. People can create their own profiles freely and post any photos, which they want to share with other people easily. They can also comment other posts and contact to someone who you want to be a friend using direct message. You can get a lot of information on the SNS easily. I also use Twitter to get some information about job hunting, and it is very useful.

Secondly, SNS is unreliable because you do not know each other well. You cannot know if people are using real photos and have never met before. Recently, suicide victims gathered to commit suicide together, and there was a case in which a woman was killed by a stranger Japan. Both cases were those who met on the SNS. I do not understand why they can meet easily but I think they could control each other since they do not know their facial expression or voice tone through the message.

To conclude, I agree with the development of SNS. However, it has not only good things but also has bad effects to your life. You can make friends and get a lot of information . On the other hand, you can get hurt by someone who abuses SNS, so we should be more careful when use it.

I interviewed my parents, and I asked them about their opinions on international marriages.

*My mother is Korean, and she moved to Japan alone when she was young.

“Do you have any problems with cultural differences?” I asked. My mother said, “At first we met, sometimes we misunderstood each other because of language barriers. Now I can speak Japanese fluently but I studied very hard.” “I think both of you are getting a little nervous when you hear some historical issues between Japan and Korea on TV. What do you think about it?” I said. They gave a wry smile and said, “Of course, we feel uncomfortable because we are from different counties. However, we respect each other’s countries, and even if we have something to say in our mind, we always try not to speak out any comments hurt each other.”

I think it is important to understand and respect each other’s culture in order for International marriage to go well.

Recently, I watched a movie “Aladdin”, and I would like to share this movie to everyone with my review. Aladdin is one of the popular Disney movies. This movie is a live-action by Guy Ritchie and is included musical scenes, so both adults and children can enjoy it. Jasmine is one of main characters, and she is further developed from the animation version. In this movie, Jasmine’s main purpose is to protect the people of Agrabar, which is her country and to treat them fairly, and she grows up in the story and not only wants what she wants, but changes to get herself. She has solo singing part in the film, and I was very moved to see her strong will to live without being influenced by the historical background of gender discrimination. This part is original version, and the song is made for only this scene. Furthermore, this film also becomes a hot topic for Will Smith to appear as Jeanie. He plays very comical and likes jokes. It is so much fun to watch Jeanie and Aladdin exchange conversation. I will not tell the ending but this is a heartwarming film. Therefore, I would like to highly recommend this!

When I was in Los Angeles, USA for study before, I often traveled various places, I have been to Hollywood, downtown, Beverly Hills nearby. It was very impressed that I was in a place I had only seen on TV. Now, I am going to write about my travel experience in the U.S.

My parents came to the U.S., and we went trip on Grand Canyon and Las Vegas for two nights. We took part in a tour in Korean, and it was really comfortable for us because we were not good at speaking English. We got on a bus in Korea town, and it took about seven hours to arrive at a hotel near Grand Canyon. We got up in the morning next day to watch sunrise at the top of the canyon. It was very amazing, and we were impressed by the beautiful natural landscape spread out before us. I was overwhelmed by beautiful nature and felt my worries were such small things, After sightseeing there, we went to Las Vegas. The streets of Las Vegas seemed to be glittering and unrealistic. We went to see a show by Silk de Soleil. It was also amazing because it was my first time to see a circus.

Both Grand Canyon and Las Vegas were great places to relax away from our daily life. However, we would have been more enjoyable if we had to take time to go sightseeing without the tour.
